An insurance agency runs on trust and quick answers. Clients expect a quote, a certificate or a claims update without waiting, and they trust you with Social Security numbers, driver's license details and financial information. When your systems slow down or your email gets compromised, both service and trust take the hit.
Your Tech Team provides IT support for insurance agencies across Fairfield County, from our offices in Wilton, Westport and Stamford. We keep producers and account managers working, protect the policyholder information your agency holds and help you plan technology that keeps up as your book grows.
Agencies face a mix of pressures that most small offices don't.
You hold sensitive data. Applications, policies and claims files contain exactly the personal information criminals want.
You're regulated. In Connecticut, insurance licensees fall under a specific data security law, on top of the state's general breach rules.
Money moves through your inbox. Premium payments, return premiums and claim checks make agencies a target for payment fraud.
Your team lives in many systems. Agency management software, carrier portals, raters and email all need to work together, every day.
General IT help can fix a printer. Insurance agency IT support has to keep producers productive while protecting the information clients and carriers trust you with.
Our full list of IT services covers the technology an agency runs on. Here is how each piece fits.
When a producer can't log in before a client meeting, your team reaches a real person. Our phones are answered 24/7, and every email gets a response in under 15 minutes. Resolution times depend on your service level and the issue. See how our service desk support works.
With our Managed IT Department model, our team becomes part of yours. We monitor computers, servers and networks, apply updates on schedule and fix small problems before they slow down a renewal season.
We take a protection-first approach to every system we manage. That includes multi-factor authentication, email filtering, endpoint protection and training that helps staff spot phishing and fake payment requests. Learn more about our cybersecurity services.
Agencies send applications, policy documents and certificates by email all day. We set up and secure Microsoft 365 with access controls and MFA so information stays where it belongs. Still on older systems? We handle the migration to Microsoft 365.
Client files and agency records need to survive a failed server, a storm or a ransomware attack. We build backup and recovery plans so your agency can keep serving clients when something goes wrong.
Producers meet clients in person and work from home. Secure remote access keeps that access protected, and modern business phone systems make sure clients reach the right person.
Our virtual CIO service gives agency principals a technology roadmap: hardware refreshes, software renewals and security priorities planned and budgeted ahead, including for acquisitions and new locations.

Agencies come in different sizes, and so does our support.
Managed IT Department. We become your agency's IT department. This is built for agencies of about 10 to 50 people with no dedicated IT staff.
Co-Managed IT. Your IT person keeps ownership of daily priorities, and we add help desk depth, after-hours coverage, security tools and project help. This suits larger agencies of about 50 to 250 people.
We also support finance, accounting and CPA firms that share many of the same data protection needs.
Connecticut's Insurance Data Security Law (CGS § 38a-38) applies to licensees of the Connecticut Insurance Department. As the Department explains in Bulletin IC-42, licensees must develop and maintain a written information security program, investigate cybersecurity events and notify the Department when required. The smallest licensees are exempt from the security program requirement, so check where your agency falls.
The law also asks licensees to use due diligence when selecting third-party service providers that handle nonpublic information. Your IT provider is one of them.
We help with the technical side of that program: multi-factor authentication, access controls, encryption, monitored devices, tested backups and staff training. Your agency remains responsible for its overall program, and having those controls in place makes it much easier to build and maintain.
Connecticut's general breach law applies as well. Businesses holding residents' personal information must report breaches, and lawmakers shortened that deadline to 60 days.
The FBI describes business email compromise as a scam aimed at businesses that send funds transfers, often through a hijacked or spoofed email account. For agencies, it can look like a client "updating" where a return premium should go, or a fake carrier message asking for login details.
A few layers stop most of these attempts: multi-factor authentication, email filtering, staff training and a firm rule to confirm any payment change by phone using a number you already have. CISA's Cyber Essentials is a good free guide for agency owners, and it recommends multi-factor authentication first.
