Your server holds your files, your logins and the software your team runs every day. We keep it patched, protected and running, and we tell you well before it needs replacing.
Your Tech Team provides server support for Stamford, CT businesses that depend on an office or virtual server to get work done. We monitor your servers, apply updates, fix problems, manage user access and plan upgrades. Your team doesn't have to think about the box in the closet.
When a server goes down, everyone notices: shared files disappear, the accounting system won't open and people can't log in. Most of those outages trace back to things that can be caught early, like a failing drive, a full disk, a missed update or a backup that quietly stopped. Our server support services are built to find those problems first.
Server support is the ongoing care of the business servers that run your shared files, user accounts, email, databases or line-of-business software. It covers watching the server's health, installing security and software updates, fixing problems when they happen, managing who has access, and planning upgrades or replacement before the hardware or operating system reaches the end of its life.
Our server management services cover the full life of your servers, from day-to-day care to the day you replace them.
We watch disk space, performance, hardware health and key services, so warning signs reach us early, before they become a full outage. Many problems get fixed quietly, long before anyone in your office sees them.
We install Windows Server security updates and software patches on a planned schedule, test what matters and time restarts around your business hours. Regular maintenance is one of the simplest ways to close the holes attackers use.
When something breaks, our phones are answered 24/7 and every email gets a response in under 15 minutes. We troubleshoot remotely first and come on site when hardware needs hands-on work. We also coordinate warranty repairs with the manufacturer.
We set up and manage Active Directory, user accounts, group permissions and shared folders, so new hires get the access they need on day one and departing employees lose it on the same day they leave.
Servers hold your most sensitive data, so we lock down admin access, protect them with endpoint security and review settings regularly as part of our cybersecurity services.
Every server we support is part of a backup plan, with copies kept out of reach of ransomware and restores tested. See our backup and disaster recovery service for details.
We track warranty dates and operating system support so replacements are planned and budgeted, not emergencies. When it's time, we handle server installation, data migration and cutover with as little disruption as possible.

Microsoft's Windows Server 2016 lifecycle ends on January 12, 2027. After that date, Microsoft stops releasing security updates for it. The server will keep running, but every new vulnerability found after that date stays open. That's a risk most insurers, auditors and clients won't accept.

If your business still runs Windows Server 2016, you have three realistic paths:
Upgrade in place or on new hardware. Microsoft recommends moving to Windows Server 2025. If your hardware is also aging, this is usually the moment to replace it.
Move the workload to the cloud. File shares often move to Microsoft 365, and applications can run on a server in Microsoft Azure. Our cloud solutions page explains how that works.
Retire it. Sometimes a server's job has already moved elsewhere, and it just needs to be shut down safely and its data archived.
We'll look at what your server actually does and recommend the path that fits your budget and timeline. With weeks, not months, left before the deadline, it's worth starting now.
Not every business needs an office server anymore, and not every server should move to the cloud. Some specialized software, large design or engineering files, and older line-of-business applications run better on-site. Simple file sharing and email usually belong in the cloud. Many businesses end up with a hybrid: one well-maintained server for what needs it, and cloud tools for the rest.
Through our IT consulting and virtual CIO service, we compare the cost, performance and security of each option for your setup, then recommend what makes sense rather than what's trendy. If the cloud wins, our Azure migration team handles the move.

It's more than five years old, or out of warranty.
It runs Windows Server 2016 or older.
Staff complain that files open slowly or logins take too long.
Nobody is sure when the last update or backup test happened.
It sits in a closet with no battery backup, cooling or physical security.
The person who set it up has left, and nobody has the admin passwords.
If two or more sound familiar, it's time for a closer look.

Sometimes. If your server mainly stores files and email, Microsoft 365 can often replace it. If it runs specialized software, controls user logins for many devices or holds large files your team edits all day, an on-site or Azure server may still be the better fit. We'll tell you honestly which applies to you.
Many businesses plan to replace server hardware around the five-year mark, often when the manufacturer's warranty ends. The operating system has its own clock: once Microsoft ends support for a version of Windows Server, it no longer gets security updates. We track both dates for you, so replacement is planned and budgeted.
The server keeps working, but Microsoft stops releasing security updates after January 12, 2027. Any new vulnerability stays open, which raises your risk of a breach and can create problems with cyber insurance and compliance. Plan to upgrade, migrate or retire it before then.
Yes. We start by documenting what the server does, who has access, how it's backed up and what condition it's in. If admin passwords or documentation are missing, we help you recover access and put proper records in place.
Yes. Many businesses run several virtual servers on one physical machine. We manage the host and the virtual servers on it, including updates, resources and backups.
